These participants examined the question of the racism and reconciliation during past semesters. From their collective desire to till the soil and to identify prevalent and pervasive weeds, the class will explore issues of reconciliation, its theology and forms in cultural contexts from Chile to Bosnia to South Africa to Greensboro, USA. In response to understandings drawn from those studies, we will plow the fields and cultivate a model for the reconciliation of racism that reflects the culture and understanding of black and white people in the commonly held field of Memphis. This study will utilize readings, film, art, prayer and excursion. The curriculum will be drawn from our experience with each other, the study materials and the discernment of the group.
