| Door of Hope is a non-profit organization that works with the chronically homeless in Midtown Memphis. Their mission is to provide a welcoming place where people living on the streets may come to learn healthy living skills and build positive relationships with other people. The are open Tuesday – Thursdays from 12:00- 4:00 pm and Saturday from 12:00-3:00 pm. They are seeking donations of time and/or money. |

| The Caritas Village is a non-profit community center, coffee shop and cultural art center located in the Binghamton neighborhood. Our mission is to break down the walls of hostility between the races and to build bridges of love and trust between the rich and those made poor. The art center is a positive alternative to the street corners for the neighborhood youth. The center is open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mon – Sat. Lunch is served daily from 11-2, and soup and sandwiches are available in the evenings. Volunteers are needed to teach art programs, play games with the neighborhood children, and to work in the coffee shop. Call Onie for more information at 327-5246. |

| Emmanuel House Community is a residential community in the Catholic Worker tradition. We seek to give each other mutual support in a life of discipleship and service. We share a life given to simplicity, reflection, prayer, nonviolence, and work that supports human dignity. Current activities include: Prayerful reflection four times a week, Weekly demonstrations for peace and the abolition of the death penalty volunteer work with ministries for the homeless, Maintenance of the Liberation Closet, a collection of clothing and shoes for use by indigent defendants appearing in court, Hospitality for visiting activists, people in need and peace and justice groups, Preaching and teaching at local churches and organic gardening on a small scale. |

| Literally “the Peace of Christ” the Pax Christi movement strives to create a world that reflects this peace by witnessing to the call of Christian nonviolence. Although the majority of our members are Roman Catholic, Pax Christi is open to all people of faith who want to work for peace in the spirit of the nonviolent Jesus. Pax Christi meets the first Tuesday of every month at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 2003 Hickory Crest Drive, 7:15-9:00 p.m. Visitors are welcome. | Jacob’ Ladder is a Community Development Corporation whose mission is “The revitalization of inner city neighborhoods through community partnerships.” They help to bring together businesses, churches and neighbors to re-build community. | Caritas Community is an intentional Christian community founded in 2000 as a ministry of presence in the Binghamton neighborhood. The Caritas House serves as a house of hospitality for the neighborhood. We host a weekly community meal and Bible study as well as various meetings, spiritual formation groups and Memphis School of Servant Leadership classes. | Emmanuel House Manna promotes hospitality for homeless persons, provides support for Prisoners and their families, promotes educational work in schools and the community, and promotes efforts to abolish the death penalty. Manna House is open for hospitality on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings from 8:00 am to 11:30am.
